Visit of the Minister of Economy to SJF

On Tuesday, the first of August, we were visited by the Minister of Economy Peter Dovhun together with the State Secretary Peter Švec, who toured selected laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University in Košice.

In addition to exhibits from the international exhibition Expo Dubai 2020, they visited the Prototype and Innovation Centre and personally tried riding on hydrogen tricycles.

Excursion “In the footsteps of car development and production”

From 19.04.-22.04.2023, 34 students of the study programmes Automotive Production, Computer Support of Mechanical Production and Mechanical Engineering and 6 teachers took part in an excursion to TATRA Kopřivnice and ŠKODA Auto Mladá Boleslav. In Kopřivnice we visited the newly opened TATRA truck museum and also the passenger car museum. In Mladá Boleslav, we visited the ŠKODA Auto Technology Centre, the dynamic test facility, the data centre, the virtual pilot hall studio, the plant and the museum. At the plant, we toured the press shop, welding shop and engine shop. The programme also included the defence of the student project “Design of an aluminium disc”, where 9 students in 6 teams presented the results of their six-month work on the development of an automotive disc. The excursion included a tour of the departments of Aufeer Design, a design office that is a supplier of engineering work for automotive companies throughout Europe. In the Rožátov restaurant we met with former graduates, of which we have about fifty in Mladá Boleslav. The excursion was rich in programme, experiences and new knowledge. Finally, we would like to thank ŠKODA Auto and Aufeer Design for their support in the preparation and implementation of the excursion.

Equipment for fragmentation of steam generators

The unique fragmentation equipment from the Prototyping and Innovation Centre of the FEM TUKE is an invaluable technical aid that helps in the fragmentation of steam generators in the decommissioned V1 nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice. Further information can be found here.

PAIC – Safe Company

The Prototyping and Innovation Centre of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering received the prestigious “Safe Company” award from the National Labour Inspectorate. The award is given to companies that do more for their employees in terms of occupational safety and health, as well as the protection of working conditions, than is required by law. Currently, 40 Slovak companies can boast this title.

EXPO 2020

Dňa 27.1.2022 sa konal Národný deň Slovenskej republiky, kde mala pani prezidentka príhovor. Vedenie Technickej univerzity v Košiciach a Strojníckej fakulty malo možnosť byť súčasťou tohto dňa.

Prodekan pre inovácie a transfer technológií prof. Ing. Tomáš Brestovič, PhD. vystúpil so svojou prednáškou o Metahydridových inováciách.

Zároveň využili možnosť osobne reprezentovať Slovenskú republiku, Technickú univerzitu v Košiciach a Strojnícku fakultu. Oboznámili účastníkov o ďalších víziách, nadviazali spolupráce a získali kontakty pre ďalšie multidisciplinárne prepojenia.

Ako vystavovatelia predstavili pani prezidentke vodíkový superšportový automobil MH2, ktorý vznikol v spolupráci s Matador Group, vodíkový autobus v spolupráci s Rošero, či dekontaminačné zariadenia, ktorých vývoj a výroba boli späté so spoločnosťou IQ Capital.
