Computer Support of Mechanical Engineering (CSoME)

Graduates of the Bachelor study programme Computer Support of Mechanical Engineering will be employed as production technologists, designers of jigs and tools, workers in IT departments of engineering companies and also as specialists for evaluation and testing operations. Graduates are prepared to work in manufacture companies focused on engineering, in the supply sector of the automotive industry, in companies with their own development of new products, in service operations and companies focused on the sale of engineering component.

Graduating in the CSoME study programme provided me with a general overview of the issues of technology and the use of CAD programs in production support as well as 3D modelling. As a candidate for the job of a product designer, I had a great advantage thanks to my ability to control the aforementioned CAD programs. I have also used the acquired knowledge of plastic injection technology, which I am currently working with.

Education Outputs:

  • General knowledge in relation to mechanics, engineering, production and technology
  • Detailed knowledge of engineering production and used technologies
  • An overview of information sources usable in mechanical engineering
  • Competences in the field of application of CAx systems (systems for computer support activities in mechanical engineering), focused on design (CAD) and technology design (CAM)
  • Basics of CNC machine programming
  • Basic knowledge of business economics and production management
  • Basic knowledge of planning, organizing and managing production at the workshop level and middle management levels

Goals of Education:

  • Application of computer support (CAD) tools in the design and construction of components or devices as a whole
  • Application of computer support tools in the construction of jigs, tools and devices needed for mechanical engineering
  • Programing of numerically controlled (NC) machines in a workshop style or with the CAM software
  • Solution of the concept of interconnection of material and information flow within the production system
  • Planning, organization and management of production at the workshop level

  • Manufacture companies – task solution in relation to the usage of CAx systems
  • CNC machine production programming

  • Transport equipment manufacture
