Bridging Theory and Practice: Injection Day at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUKE
On September 16, 2026, the Department of Technologies, Materials and Computer-Aided Production Support at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUKE hosted the professional Injection Day workshop, organized by our colleagues in cooperation with Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Czech Republic.
More than 40 professionals from over 20 companies in the plastics processing industry gained insights into current trends in plastic injection moulding. The workshop participants discussed current trends in injection moulding, the active features of the IntElect2 all-electric injection moulding machine, CAE simulations in injection moulding, conventional and pulse mould temperature control, energy-efficient polymer drying, optical 3D scanning in metrology, as well as plastic materials and process protection against metal contamination.
The programme also included a practical demonstration of the SD IntElect2 injection moulding machine with peripheral equipment provided by our partners, as well as demonstrations for TUKE students and staff.
We would like to thank the workshop partners SimulPlast, s.r.o., Korinex s.r.o. Industry Solutions, Dräger (Moretto), Moretto, 3Dees Group Industries, Vacula, Sesotec, and the PROMATAI project, as well as all participants for the valuable discussions and exchange of expertise.
