Engineering Technologies and Materials (ETaM)

The study programme of the III. degree of the university study Mechanical Engineering Technologies and Materials is designed for graduates of engineering studies in the field of study Mechanical Engineering. The aim of the study programme is to deepen the knowledge acquired at the second level of study, which is related to the student’s scientific work in the field of structural materials and their chip and chipless processing, simulation and optimization of technological processes and the application of computer support at various levels of technological systems. This study programme will prepare students for independent problem solving in the fields of forming, machining, welding, joining, surface treatment, plastics processing, casting, assembly, engineering metrology, powder metallurgy and CAx technologies. Graduates will acquire competencies to master the scientific research and development methods used in the field of manufacturing technology using current information technology. The study programme also emphasises the acquisition of communication skills and abilities in both native and foreign languages.

Studying at the FME taught me time management, teamwork, and provided me with a broader perspective, determination and especially healthy humility. I gained a lot of knowledge from experts in my fields, which I could use and develop in various job positions at work.

My specialization during my studies at the FME TU in Košice was focused on innovation management in the automotive industry. I continued to expand the acquired knowledge even after graduating university, and I continue to work in this field, which I enjoy very much, as you are constantly discovering new things in innovation.
