Form of selection
Study admission will take place in the form of a selection procedure. There are no entrance exams.
Conditions
The basic condition for admission to the study of Master study programmes (I. level of university study) is the successful completion of the I. level of the study programme. Fulfilment of the I. level education conditions and eligibility for II. level studies is assessed by the admissions committee on the basis of the structure and content of the completed subjects of the previous study programme. The Faculty reserves the right to decide whether the content of the I. level study programme, which the applicant has completed, corresponds to the requirements for the study of the relevant II. level study programme.
Evaluation criteria
Applicants for Master studies at FME TUKE will be evaluated primarily on the basis of the results of the Bachelor studies – on the basis of the study average, calculated from the following formula,
where Zi is the percentage gained from the i-th study subject, Ki is the number of credits of the i-th subject, and n is the number of subjects evaluated by credits and classification level. If the applicant has completed the first level of his/her study with a different evaluation scale than the one established by the Study Regulations of the Technical University of Košice (0% – 100%), the faculty reserves the right to recalculate in accordance to this scale.
Selection procedure
It is necessary to state two study programs (preferred and alternative) in the application. The placement of an applicant in a selected study programme is based on the results of his Bachelor studies and also on the overall demand for the given study programme.
Applications can be submitted only electronically via the e-application form in the MAIS information system.. The MAIS applicant interface allows, in addition to filling in and printing out the application, also monitoring of, e.g. the processing status, acknowledgment of receipt and validity, decisions on acceptance, decisions on appeals. Further details of the electronic application will be updated and published on the website of the faculty www.sjf.tuke.sk.
